One Day Assignment

Welcome to my class! You are an honored guest of The Kendall Cubs, so my students should treat you as such. I appreciate you accepting this assignment. Please ask the classroom managers (names are posted on the board) to introduce themselves and explain their jobs. They will be your assistants throughout the day and help you maintain normal procedures.

 

Morning Arrival/ Worktime (7:45-8:20 AM)

Students need to get everything unpacked from their backpacks, place lunch/snacks on food cart, and begin working on “starred” assignments.

 

Students need to be quiet during morning announcements. After announcements, Kaelan will lead the students in the class pledge. Joe will return the attendance to the office for you.

 

Language Arts (8:25-10:00AM)

Call for Mrs. Canon’s (Lonnie, Ryan, & Simone) and Mrs. Hobbs (Akia) Language Arts class to line up at the door. (Students line up by “day” tables: F, M, Tu, W, Th). Dismiss these students to their classes and my students (from her room: Brandon, Rose, Chris, Cooper) should enter the room.

 

01.  Reading:

a.       Selection Test: Students will need to take “The Keepers” selection test. They MUST do #5, and are not allowed to look in their reading book.

*They need to turn work into the tray when they are finished.

02.  Wordly Wise:

a.      Lesson 12E

 

Recycling Awareness Program @ 10:00a

*Hold on snacktime until program is over



 


 

 

Snacktime (???—should be 5 minutes)

Dismiss students to the restroom—make sure that my restroom monitors report any disruptive behavior. Students may get their snack form the food cart.

 

Mathematics (10:10-11:00AM)

01.  Chapter 17 Review/Test

a.       Students will complete p. 310 (#10-28 even)

 

Science (11:00-12:15PM)

01.  Human Body: Digestive System

a.       Students will need to copy Digestive System Notes from the board. Make sure that they place them in their science folders. *They will need it to study for their quiz.

b.      Complete worksheet (front/back) on the Digestive System.

 

Lunch (12:15-12:45PM)

Line up students in “day” order (F, M, Tu, W, Th). Students that need to go to the restroom may go on their way to lunch. Walk students to the cafeteria. Enjoy your lunch!

 

Science (Cont’d) (12:45-1:20PM)

 Allow students to finish copying notes from the board. Remind them to study notes for their quiz on Monday.

 

Dismiss students in “day” order (F, M, Tu, W, Th) for restroom and water break.

 

P.E. (1:30-2:30PM)

Line students up in “day” order (F, M, Tu, W, Th) and take them to the gymnasium for P.E. Enjoy your break!

 


 

Dismissal (2:35-3:00PM)

01.  Pack students up by calling out their day tables (F, M, Tu, W, Th). Give each table 2 minutes. Please stamp their homework planners.

02.  Have board/calendar manager to erase the boards and change calendar cubes to Jan. 18th.

03.  Announce A+ Excellent Behavior students and pass out tickets to the top-behaving Cubs. Remind them to turn tickets to you with their name/date on the back.

 

*Students need to put their chairs on top of their desks when they leave.
